The green carpet for your bathroom…
Pubblicato da cla5 su Gennaio 20, 2009

Today I checked a funny website in which I found this green stuff…
What about the feeling of fresh cut grass under the toes, when U step out of the shower?? This Moss Carpet by Nguyen La Chanh brings the outside indoors in an unconventionally natural way by placing it underfoot. The lush green lawn thrives in humid environments, which makes your bathroom a perfect place to grow. This stuff is made from a decay-free foam called plastazote, and populated with three varieties of moss: ball, island, and forest. Let’ s grow a little extra dose of green to start your morning or end your day. C.

“LightDrops” Umbrella
Pubblicato da cla5 su Dicembre 22, 2008
The Lightdrops umbrella is constructed from a new type of fabric that harvests kinetic energy, and is made with microfiber nanogenerator fabric. Unfortunately, the zinc oxide coating in that fabric degrades when wet. Now designer Sang-Kyun Park is reported to be using a similar experimental material known as PDVF.
“As water pours over the surface, potential energy from raindrops slamming onto the conductive membrane called PDVF transforms into electrical energy powering embedded LEDs sending your umbrella ablaze with light” Yanko Design reports. “The heavier the rain, the brighter the light to help you see your way.” If this mysterious PDVF material has overcome the water solubility problem, Lightdrops could just become the first widespread application of power-generating fabric in the world. So bring on the rain!!! C.

Eco-Christmas holiday!!!
Pubblicato da cla5 su Dicembre 15, 2008

This Holiday Season you can save a tree with a fun, enviro-friendly Cardboard Christmas Tree!!!! With Christmas quickly approaching, many of us would like to engage in the holiday cheer without the use-once-and-toss-in-the-street traditional Christmas tree, and this simple centerpiece may be just the alternative we were looking for.
This was designed and developed by Cloud Gate Design LLC, a Chicago based design house. Cloud Gate Design was founded in 2006 by two designer friends, Nick Ng and Dan Greene, as a way to bring environmentally conscious alternatives to market. One such item, the Cardboard Christmas Tree, is made by using recycled corrugated cardboard for the tree and its packaging.
In addiction, a portion of the profits from the Cardboard Christmas Tree sales are donated to the american foundation “Arbor Day Foundation’ s Trees”. For every one dollar donated to the program, one tree will be planted in a damaged forest. C.

360 Paper Bottles
Pubblicato da cla5 su Dicembre 2, 2008

The 360 Paper Bottle is a biodegradable, resealable, eco-friendlier plastic bottle alternative. Brandimage infact works to design, develop, and engineer new products and brands. These Paper Water Bottles are made from 100% recycled material and could transform the plastic water bottle pollution so prevelant today. Plastic bottles take 700 years to begin composting, 24 million gallons of oil are needed to produce a billion plastic bottles, bottling and shipping water is the least energy efficient method ever used to supply water, and bottled water is the second most popular beverage in the United States!! I think that these bottles are fantastic! C.

Well everyone, today I want to show U a new line of bonsai-laden, the “Kirikabu speakers”, presented for the first time at Tokyo Designer’s Week. This series of speakers, which are all in eco-friendly plastic, can be assembled into different shapes.
Each mini modular Kirikabu resembles a three horizontal stubs, two of them hold speakers, while the third is terminal. The units can be connected with one another to create a larger speaker, and each module houses a small pot, where bonsai or other plants can be grown! I hope U’ll enjoy it! C.
